Secret Santa Program to participate in Cash For Your Magical Cause Washington-Morgan Community Action's Secret Santa Program will take part in Grand Central Mall's Cash for Your Magical Cause for the first time this holiday season. The Secret Santa Program provides Christmas gifts to children of low-income families in Washington County, ages 0-12. The program served a total of 514 children last year with the help of community donations and sponsors. Cash for Your Magical Cause allows local nonprofit organizations to compete for cash prizes totaling $10,000. The program runs Nov. 1-21, and consists of two competitions. In the first competition, customers may present their Grand Central Mall shopping or dining receipts to Guest Services at the mall, and each dollar spent earns the organization of their choice one point. Receipts do not need to be presented to Guest Services on the day of the purchase, provided the purchase occurs between Nov. 1-21 and the receipt is turned in by 9:00 p.m. on Nov. 21. After you choose your cause, your receipts will be returned to you. Prizes include: first place: $4000, second place: $2500, third place: $1500, fourth place: $1000, and fifth place: $500. The Cash for Your Magical Cause program also includes a separate online competition based on votes via Grand Central Mall's Facebook page. Individuals can vote for their favorite organization one time per day. The organization that receives the most online votes will be awarded $500. The online voting competition does not affect the receipt competition in any way. If you would like to support the Secret Santa Program, you can present your receipts to Guest Services, which is located in the middle of the mall, and tell them you want your receipts to support the Community Action Program Corporation of Washington-Morgan Counties Secret Santa Program. In addition to stores located inside the mall, receipts from hhgregg, Long John Silver's, Olive Garden Restaurant, Outback Steakhouse, Old Navy, Panera Bread, Ruby Tuesday, and Toys-R-Us also qualify. You can also vote for the Secret Santa Program daily at https://www.facebook.com/GrandCentralMall/app_303561899745219. The Secret Santa Program will also be featured along with other participating nonprofit organizations at Grand Central Mall's Nonprofit Showcase on Nov. 7. Anyone who would like to learn more about the program is encouraged to attend. The Secret Santa Program is currently seeking community support to help bring a little Christmas cheer to local children. You can support the program by sponsoring children or by making a tax-deductible cash donation, which is used to purchase gifts for children who do not receive community sponsors.
